Valle de Uco Mendoza

Famous for high altitude vineyards, the Uco Valley is located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains approximately 100km to the south of Mendoza city. The melting snow from the Andes forms numerous streams of freshwater that flow into the Uco Valley for natural irrigation. Here is where our Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Malbec develop into fruit characterized by soft and sweet tannins.

Central Mendoza Region
Altitude: 600-1,400 m (2,000-3,600 feet)
Sub-Regions: Maipú, Luján de Cuyo, Lunlunta, Agrelo
In the outskirts of the city, the Mendoza River irrigates the vineyards of Luján de Cuyo and Maipú, the two most traditional zones of the region. This central part, reaching altitudes of 600 to 1,100 meters (2,000 to 3,600 feet) , benefits from the alluvial sediments and mineral deposits of the Andes. The main varietals of the region are Malbec, Chardonnayand Cabernet Sauvignon, producing wines of great structure and intensity. The Argentine varietal of Malbec was born in the Agrelo section of this region, and now is the varietal most commonly planted in the area.

Cafayate Region
Cafayate is the heart of the Calchaquí Valley, located in the Salta province in Northeastern Argentina. Es una de las regiones más vibrantes de Argentina que permiten mostrar al mundo la diversidad de suelos, variedades y estilo que nuestro país posee.
The valleys are distinguished as the viticultural region with the highest altitudes in the world, with vineyards planted at 1,700 meters up to 3,300 meters (5,500 feet to 10,800 feet) above sea level. This is one of the most vibrant regions in all of Argentina, showing the world the diversity in soil and varietals, as well as the style of wines our country produces. Our Torrontés particularly expresses the blessed terroir of the Cafayate region.

Vineyards
The terroirs of upper Mendoza River region (Lujan de Cuyo), located at 33º South Latitude, with foothill from 2000 through 3500ft about sea level grows principally Malbec y Merlot vines. This is one of the most important regions of fine wines production in Argentina.
As long as the vineyards coming from Maipú, northwest mendocinian region, located at 31º south latitude between 2000 and 2300 feet above sea level is found mostly the Cabernet Sauvignon variety is found there as well as Chardonnay grapes. This region of deep soils and slight slope is characterized by the white and red easy drinkable wines and notably varietal characteristics.
From these exceptional terroirs and the careful follow through of the grapes coming from them, the first and fundamental step is initiated to elaborate the Sietefincas´ wines and sparkling extra brut.
